“The tiniest act of Kindness can save a life.”

Sarah Hopton

I am a paediatric nurse, currently working in research at John Radcliffe. I qualified in 2000, and have worked on the Children’s wards and Children’s Critical Care at the JR, as well as in the community nursing team in Oxford.

I have always enjoyed drawing and painting but rediscovered my passion for it during the first lockdown, where art became a welcome escape from working in critical care. I mainly use pencils and watercolours and have an interest in nature and realism.

I took part in the sketchbook project run by Brooklyn Art Library in New York, which included having my sketchbook on the shelves for public viewing as well as online, and had a picture commended online by Artists & Illustrators magazine.
